WEDNESDAY NIGHT  PROGRAMS


Wednesday Night Programs, long a staple of our church's fellowship, are being dramatically changed this year.  Some different activity will be held each week, and meal service will vary from week to week.

Here is a typical Wednesday Night:

5:30 p.m. Fellowship Time
6:00 p.m. Meal served in the Chapel (except Council Night)
6:30 p.m. Adult & Children's Programs Start
7:30 p.m. All Programs End.
7:30 p.m. Chancel Choir Rehearsal Starts.

(Note: Cherub and Calvin Choirs now meet on Sunday mornings, and not on Wednesday night)

 

A typical monthly calendar is shown below.

Reservations are required for meals and childcare.  

Reservations are essential since we do not have a budget for Wednesday evening programming or meals.  To reserve meals, you may use the sign-up sheets, the blue pew reservation cards, or call the church office (649-9148).  Advance registrations and payment are accepted.  All reservations and cancellations must be received by 12:00 noon on Monday.

Council night

Childcare, homework station, C.Q. Cinema

 Program Night

Although September will start with the Table Fellowship Series (see below,) most second Wednesday evenings, children will have the opportunity to participate in service projects,  led by Diane Rocha, our childcare provider, per registration.

 Small Group Night.  “Table Fellowship” Series, led by Lindsey Peery.  The new program for children is designed to connect church with the home.  In each session the children will create something for their family dinner table at home.  This is a meaningful fellowship opportunity for our children.  Ages four years and up are welcome.  Please pre-register.  The schedule:

Children four years of age and older are desired at the worship event.  Nursery will be provided, per registration.

 Programs for Adults: 

Council Night

Program Night

Major presentation and events; participate as one group.

Small Group Night (sign up for desired group on credenza)

  • Table Talks (for young adults, young parents)--Table Talk is a time for conversation about how theology intersects with life.  Pen Peery will meet with this group across the street at Penny Lane after our meal.
  • Spiritual Exercise--Contemplative prayer, lectio divino, taize prayer, labyrinth, poetry, etc. are some of the avenues we will explore to connect to God. We will decide as a group what we wish to do.  This small group is geared for parents.  The group meets in the Good Newsroom.
  • NeedleWorks--Knitting, crocheting, needlepoint, etc.  Come and create.
  • Arts Group--TBA
  • Thoughtful Christians--Conversation with Ben Sparks about contemporary issues and faith.

All Church Family Worship Feast

This is a new, multi-intelligent approach to worship.  Intended for four year olds through older adults, this is a relational, multi-sensory experiential approach to worship, including the celebration of the Lord's Supper.
