Faith Leaders/Representatives Are Encouraged To Attend!
The Educational Fund to Stop Gun Violence and Second Presbyterian Church are pleased to host "2019 Legislative Preview: Addressing Gun Violence in Our Communities" on Tuesday, November 13, 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. Reducing gun violence is an advocacy priority at Second Presbyterian and we are eager to learn how community and faith-based organizations can play a role with upcoming legislation. We hope you can send one or two representatives from your organization or congregation to attend this important discussion.
This event is co-sponsored by The Educational Fund to Stop Gun Violence, a non- profit committed to evidence based solutions to reduce gun injury and death in all its forms. Lori Haas, Virginia State Director for the Ed Fund will facilitate the event. It will include a brief overview of the 2018 Virginia General Assembly Session and Gun Violence Prevention legislation we might expect in the 2019 session. There will be ample time for questions and discussion.
Second Presbyterian Church is located at 5 N. 5th St, at the corner of Main and 5th Streets. Parking will be available in the church garage on 5th street or you can park on adjacent streets without charge. If you use the garage, bring your ticket into the church and we will stamp it for you. To enter the church, use the doorbells on the garage entrance or atrium entrance and the church sexton will respond. Light refreshments will be served.
