- HABITAT FOR HUMANITY
BLITZ BUILD, MARCH 20-31: After a successful partnership last year with
Keima Henderson, her son Antonio, and a host of other
churches--we are ready to enter phase two of our commitment to Habitat. As a result of the generosity and
faithfulness in last year's "special appeal," Second Presbyterian has enough
resources to fully fund a home.
From March 20-31, 2007, we are being asked
to participate in a "blitz build." During these two weeks (a work week is
Tuesday-Saturday) we will build a new home from foundation to finishing nails at
1425 North 22d Street in
Church Hill. We will be supervised by capable and trained Habitat
foremen--but we need you to put your faith into action by swinging the hammers!
Come join us--take a couple of days off work;
invite your colleagues to join you; talk it up with a small group or class at
church--and help us to build. At the end of our two weeks there will not
only be a new house for a deserving family, but there will also be relationships
formed.
This is a ministry opportunity deserving of
our energy and excitement. Faith is alive in the sound of hammers and
nails. Come help us spread the good news!
More information and sign-ups will be
available in January. If you have questions, please contact
Glenn Thomason, 359-2694, or Bill McKelway, 233-1065.
