We Are Your Presbyterian Church in Downtown Richmond
 While our name is "Second"...
We aim to be FIRST in friendliness and caring, both for our
congregation, our visitors, and our community.
We are one of the FIRST Richmond churches to
operate a Child Care Center. Our Center was recently recognized nationally
for its

We are the FIRST church in Virginia from which a
Prison Family Service Program for the families of prisoners is operated.
 Historically, we were home
to the great 19th century orator Moses Hoge; we were the Richmond church in which
Stonewall Jackson worshipped; and both our church structure and our congregation's
sensibilities survived the firestorm that was the Civil War.
We are a church currently
involved in providing a unique twenty-first century ministry that seeks to
match
the time and talent of our congregation with the needs of downtown
Richmond and its people.
