Second Presbyterian Church

Richmond, Virginia, U.S.A.

We are called to be a witness to and for the world of the new reality which God has made available to all people in Jesus Christ. We seek "to know Him and to make Him known" in downtown Richmond and throughout the world.

GAUTIER  PHOTOS

In February, 2006, a team of Second Presbyterian members traveled to Gautier, Mississippi, to support reconstruction efforts of the local Presbyterian Church and its members in response to Hurricane Katrina.

Photos below provide some idea of the nature of the support our team provided.

The Second Presbyterian crew prepares to begin its work at the Gautier Presbyterian Church.

Showers (left) and Sunday School rooms used as sleeping quarters by the team.
Gautier PC asked our team to build a storage shed near the church.  Ed Diehl stands on the floor as Do Tobias, Milt Bigger, and John Myers look on.
The shed takes shape.
The shed about to get its roof.  Showers are in the background.
The 'Cat Men,' David Creighton and Rev Terry Alexander, multi-talented Presbyterian minister from Richmond, finish the shed roof.
Several team members repairing living room in home of Mrs. Ely (far left).  Others in picture: Susan Duffee Braun, Gautier Pres. volunteer coordinator, Ray (a volunteer from Iowa), Glenn Thomason, "Rev" Elizabeth, Presbyterian Minister, summer volunteer from Virginia, Charles Peters, Dottie Thomason, and Dave Crighton.
Same location: Dottie Thomason, Dave Crighton, Susan Duffee Braun, Rev Elizabeth, and Charles Peters.
Every job needs a supervisor.  Here Ed Diehl fills the bill.
