For one week every winter, Second Presbyterian Church hosts 30 to 35 homeless guests in our building. This effort involves over 100 volunteers from our congregation in various opportunities for ministry. We need cooks each evening to prepare dinner, and people to serve. and sit down and eat with our guests. We need clean up crews, and folks who prepare bag lunches for the next day. We need folks who can set up the Hawes Bulding area for our guests and a crew to take it all down. We need people who can spend the night here with our guests and help prepare breakfast. People of all ages can join in this important ministry. The dates for this year are February 26 to March 5.
